Is the official HPI Check worth £19.99?
HPI built the original UK vehicle history database, and its full check is thorough: finance, PNC stolen status, write-offs, mileage discrepancies, MOT history, keepers, plate changes, logbook and VIN checks and a valuation, backed by a £30,000 guarantee. The data is hard to fault.
The price is the issue. For one car you pay £19.99, while several providers on this page list the same core checks with an equal guarantee for £9.99 to £15. HPI’s own 3-check MultiCheck (£29.99) is much better value if you’re comparing cars. Avoid the £9.99 Basic Check if you want HPI-level protection: HPI says it leaves out mileage discrepancies, write-off details and the guarantee.
