The HPI Check is the original UK vehicle history check, and its full check is still a benchmark: finance, PNC stolen status, write-offs, mileage discrepancies, MOT history, keepers, plate changes, scrapped status, logbook and VIN checks and a valuation, backed by a £30,000 guarantee.
At £19.99 for one car, it costs more than most full checks here, and several providers list the same core checks and an equal guarantee for £9.99 to £15.

Be careful with the Basic Check. HPI says it excludes mileage discrepancies, write-off details and the guarantee, the things most people buy an HPI check for.

HPI’s report format is long-established and widely recognised. Mileage and valuation are provided “where available”, so some vehicles will show less. To activate the guarantee you enter the chassis number and V5C details.

Buyers who want the original HPI brand and are happy to pay for it. If you specifically want the HPI brand, or you’re comparing three cars and can use MultiCheck, the official HPI Check is a safe choice.
